Superstorm Sandy came ashore near Atlantic City in October, but in November the storm led to the biggest monthly drop in casino revenue in the city's 34-year history of legalized gambling.
Revel, Atlantic City's newest casino, finished a dismal 8th, again in June, when it comes to gambling revenue. That's 8th for the third month in a row.
It's good news for commercial casinos nationwide, bad news for Atlantic City. While gambling markets in Las Vegas and New York are bouncing back from the recession, New Jersey's casino revenues remain down.
